Was Varun Tej’s Weekend Disappointing?

Operation Valentine: The Triumph of 'Prabhavinche Lyrical

Varun Tej’s latest film “Operation Valentine,” released on March 1st, is facing an uphill battle at the box office. The movie, which sees Tej playing an Air Force pilot, earned a mere ₹2.25 crore on its second day, bringing the total India collection to a low ₹3.50 crore.

Despite pre-release hype and a pan-India promotion campaign with co-star Manushi Chhillar, “Operation Valentine” has failed to ignite audience interest. The movie’s Telugu occupancy remained below 20% throughout Saturday, with a slight increase only in evening and night shows. This trend suggests limited audience engagement with the film.

The opening day also saw underwhelming figures, with ₹1.25 crore earned across all languages in India. Occupancy started low in the morning and only peaked slightly in the evening and night.

Early reviews and word-of-mouth seem to be unfavorable, further hindering the film’s box office performance. With these numbers, “Operation Valentine” is unlikely to cross the ₹10 crore mark during its first weekend run.
