Uttarkashi Tunnel Rescue: Bollywood Applauds Heroes

41 workers were successfully rescued on November 28 after being trapped in Uttarakhand’s Silkyara tunnel for 17 days. Soon after the rescue operation ended, several Bollywood stars, including Akshay Kumar, Jackie Shroff applauded the rescue team.

After a grueling 17-day rescue mission involving the National Disaster Response Force (NDRF), State Disaster Response Force (SDRF), the Army, and tunneling experts, 41 workers were successfully freed from an under-construction tunnel in Uttarkashi on November 28. Bollywood stars, including Akshay Kumar and Jackie Shroff, expressed admiration for the rescue team immediately after the operation.

Trapped workers were carefully extracted through an escape pipe, with a specialized rat-hole mining team stepping in to manually drill the final stretch after a mechanical breakdown. Post-rescue, Bollywood celebrities showered praise on the dedicated team.

Akshay Kumar, sharing his joy on X, expressed being “completely overwhelmed with happiness and relief” at the news. He saluted every member of the rescue team, emphasizing the remarkable feat accomplished. “Kamaal kar diya. This is a new India, and we all feel so proud. Jai Hind,” he added.

The successful mission not only brought physical relief to the workers but also symbolized unity, resilience, and collective pride for a nation facing a challenging situation.
