Dhoni Files Criminal Case Accusing Ex-Partners of Fraud in Rs 15 Crore Cricket Academy Deal; Legal Battle Unfolds.
Former Indian cricket captain MS Dhoni has filed a criminal case against his ex-business partners, accusing them of cheating him of over Rs 15 crore in a cricket academy venture. Dhoni alleges that Mihir Diwakar and Soumya Vishwash of Aarka Sports and Management Limited failed to fulfill a 2017 agreement’s conditions, which included paying a franchise fee and sharing profits. Despite multiple attempts and legal notices, the terms were not honored, leading Dhoni to revoke Aarka Sports’ authority in August 2021. The legal representative claims a loss exceeding Rs 15 crore. Dhoni’s friend, Simant Lohani, also filed a complaint, citing threats and abuse from Diwakar. Dhoni and Rishabh Pant are set to return for IPL 2024.
