Malavika Mohanan, daughter of cinematographer K. U. Mohanan, was born in Payyanur, Kerala, and grew up in Mumbai. She launched her acting career with the Malayalam film Pattam Pole in 2013 and gained recognition for her performance in Majid Majidi’s Hindi film Beyond the Clouds (2017). She also made waves with her role in the Tamil hit Master (2021).
