The second part of the web movie ‘Bhamakalapam,’ called ‘Bhamakalapam 2,’ just came out on the Aha streaming service. We watched it, and here’s what we think about the exciting heist story. Check out our review to get all the details!

Story :

Anupama, played by Priyamani, faced some tough times in the past, so she decided to keep to herself. She teamed up with her maid Shilpa, played by Sharanya Pradeep, to run a restaurant. An exciting twist comes when they enter the Cooking Idol 2023 competition, organized by the wealthy Antony Lobo, played by Anuj Gurwara, who has some not-so-good plans.

As the story takes a dark turn, Anupama gets pressured by a corrupt NCB officer named Sadanand, played by Raghu Mukharjee, to steal the competition’s trophy. Why does Anupama have to help Sadanand, and why is he threatening her for the trophy? What is Antony’s plan in all of this? Anupama finds herself caught in a tricky situation. To uncover the answers, you’ll have to watch the movie and see what Anupama decides to do in the end!

Postive Aspects :

The new story picks up with some quick looks at how Bhama Kalapam ended, but this time, they changed the type of story from a funny crime one to an exciting heist thriller. This switch got people even more interested in finding out what happens next.

One of the big good things about the movies is Priyamani’s great acting in both of them. In this latest part, she plays a character who is more sure of herself and not as innocent, and you can really see it in how she acts.

Sharanya Pradeep also does a good job and brings in some humor. Raghu Mukherjee, who plays the bad guy, does a great job too, and the rest of the cast does their roles really well.

Negative Aspects :

It’s good that they chose to continue the series with a heist story, but some parts of the story could have been done better. Some scenes are too dramatic, and some things that happen are easy to guess, making the overall impact not as strong. Adding more surprises and twists could have made the story more exciting.

The character played by Sharanya Pradeep could have been given more funny moments to lighten up the serious heist story. Seerat Kapoor’s part seems like it’s mostly there for looks and doesn’t have much chance for a strong performance.

The movie takes a while to get really interesting, and the ending doesn’t feel very convincing. It seems like the makers wanted to keep the series going, so they made that choice on purpose.

Technical Elements :

Abhimanyu Tadimeti did a good job directing the movie, but paying more attention to the small things could have made it more interesting, especially in the first part. The background music by Prasanth R Vihari doesn’t have a strong impact and doesn’t add much suspense. On the bright side, Deepak Yaragera, the person in charge of the camera work, did well capturing the beautiful visuals, thanks to good production values. The editing in the first hour could have been done more carefully to make it more engaging.

Conclusion :

Overall, Bhamakalapam 2 has some enjoyable moments. Priyamani does a great job, and Sharanya Pradeep adds to the positive side of the movie. But, the story is too easy to figure out, and the pace of the movie is a bit slow. If you liked Bhama Kalapam, you might be interested in the sequel, but don’t expect too much. Keep your expectations in check.
