The highly anticipated political thriller, “Raajadhaani Files,” has finally made its debut on the silver screen today. Dive into our review to discover the verdict on this much-discussed political drama.

Story :

Located in the quaint village of Bhullur, the film revolves around Gautham (played by Pushparaj Akhilan). Initially contemplating departure from the village, Gautham becomes intricately entwined with the plight of farmers who sacrificed their ancestral lands for the construction of the new capital, Airavathi, in Aruna Pradesh. However, a twist unfolds when the newly elected Chief Minister (portrayed by Vishal Patni) chooses to neglect Airavathi, leading to a rebellion among the farmers. To unravel the destiny of Gautham and his fellow villagers, and to witness whether their aspirations come to fruition, one must delve into the movie itself.

Positive Aspects :

Seasoned actors Vinod Kumar and Vani Vishwanath delivered commendable performances, showcasing their prowess, particularly standing out in certain key scenes.

Pushparaj Akhilan effectively embodied his character, with a notable impact, particularly gaining prominence in the latter part of the film. The supporting cast also made substantial contributions, adding to the overall quality of the performances.

Negative Aspects :

Despite its intention to seamlessly blend fiction with reality, Raajadhani Files falls short in delivering the anticipated emotional weight and powerful performances.

The director missed a crucial opportunity to construct a compelling narrative that resonates deeply with the audience, particularly in the first half. Additionally, the lack of coherence between certain scenes in both halves is glaring.

Better casting choices could have elevated the emotional depth, as the current actors lacked the necessary gravitas. The accompanying music fails to effectively complement the scenes. The minimal presence and lack of assertive dialogue from the actor portraying the CM are unimpressive. Introducing more impactful dialogues could have compensated for this. Moreover, the inclusion of a special song in the serious second half was an ill-advised decision.

Technical Elements :

Director Bhanu possessed the potential to transform Raajadhani Files into a captivating political drama but regrettably fell short of seizing the opportunity.

Despite the inclusion of seasoned technicians such as Manisharma and Kotagiri Venkateswara Rao, the story’s constraints hampered their significant contributions.

The cinematography meets the standard, and although the production values are acceptable, notable enhancements are required in the editing department. Trimming unnecessary scenes and reducing the overall runtime would greatly improve the film.

Conclusion :

In its entirety, Raajadhani Files disappoints as a political drama, failing to capture the depth and emotional resonance necessary to fully engage audiences. While the lead performances are passable, the film is burdened by a hindering screenplay, the absence of a compelling storyline, superfluous scenes, and an excessively lengthy runtime. Exploring alternative entertainment options for the week is recommended.
