Niharika Konidela, steps into the world of film production with her debut project, Committee Kurrollu, which premiered today. The film has generated considerable excitement ahead of its release. Read our review to find out how it measures up.

Story:

In the tranquil village of Purushothapalli, West Godavari, a tight-knit group of friends—Shiva (Sandeep Saroj), Surya (Yaswanth Pendyala), Subbu (Thrinadh Varma), William (Eshwar Rachiraju), Peddodu (Prasad Behara), and others—enjoy a deep camaraderie. However, a sudden clash among them shakes the village to its core, upsetting their daily lives and the village’s sense of unity.

What sparked this unexpected fallout? How has their dispute impacted the village and its way of life? Will these friends find a way to mend their rift? And what part does Bujji (Sai Kumar) play in this unfolding story? Discover the answers when you watch the film on the big screen.

Positive Aspects:

The film’s marketing promised a fun, lively experience, mixing humor with heartfelt moments, and it delivers just that.

Sandeep Saroj, Thrinadh Varma, Yashwanth Pendyala, and Prasad Behara give standout performances, bringing their characters to life and adding depth to the story.

The supporting cast, including Kishore Kumar Polimera and Sai Kumar, also adds to the film’s charm.

One of the film’s highlights is the childhood scenes. These moments are filled with playful antics that will make viewers nostalgic and bring plenty of laughs. They’re crafted in a way that will surely remind everyone of their own younger days.

Negative Aspects:

While the film excels in comedy and has a few touching moments, the story doesn’t quite grab your attention. The first half is entertaining and well done, but the second half loses its spark. Some emotional scenes don’t hit the mark, and the subplot about the election and the ending feel rushed and underdeveloped. The conflicts and reunions could have been more impactful to boost the drama and emotional depth. Certain scenes come off as forced, and confrontations with characters like Sai Kumar and Goparaju Ramana lack substance. Although the heroines and their romantic storylines are well-crafted, they don’t get much screen time in the latter part of the film.

Technical Elements:

Director Yadhu Vamsi creates a visually engaging film with plenty of entertaining moments, though the writing could use some polish. Anudeep Dev’s music is a highlight, featuring several memorable tracks. Edurolu Raju’s cinematography beautifully captures the village setting, while Anwar Ali’s editing could have been sharper to improve the film’s pacing. Overall, the production values are high.

Conclusion:

Overall, Committee Kurrollu is a solid youthful comedy-drama that brings plenty of laughs, nostalgia, and impressive performances. Although the second half doesn’t quite hold your attention and the plot isn’t very gripping, it’s still a fun watch, especially on a weekend with friends. The film offers a hearty dose of nostalgia that makes it enjoyable despite its shortcomings.
