Story :
Arjun, played by Ashish, is a YouTuber known for his curiosity and daring adventures. Despite warnings from others, he’s always on a quest for answers to unsolved mysteries. One day, Arjun stumbles upon the legend of Divyavathi, a ghost with a deadly reputation. Against all odds, Arjun finds himself falling for her. As he delves deeper into Divyavathi’s story, he uncovers shocking revelations with the help of his friends Prathap (Ravi Krishna) and Priya (Vaishnavi Chaitanya). Together, they embark on a journey to unravel the mystery behind Divyavathi’s existence and discover the truth about her past.
Positive Aspects :
Ashish has really grown as an actor since his first movie. He’s showing more maturity in his acting, especially in a role where he needs to be subtle. He looks charming in every scene, and his dialogue delivery is spot-on.
The first half of the movie doesn’t have a flawless screenplay, but the main idea of the hero falling for a ghost keeps us interested. The movie starts off strong with the backstory of the ghost. Even though it loses some momentum after that, the impressive visuals and the main theme keep us hooked to some extent. Ravi Krishna does a decent job in his role.
Negative Aspects :
Sometimes, cool ideas don’t translate well onto the screen. Like, in this movie, the hero falling for a ghost sounds interesting, but the way it’s shown isn’t convincing. The excitement we feel in the first half kind of fades away by the end, especially after a big reveal. After that, things just start feeling silly and not very logical.
The main character, who’s an artist, isn’t developed enough for us to really connect with them. And in the second half, instead of getting more thrilling, the story gets confusing. There are so many characters and so much info thrown at us that it’s hard to keep up. We’re left wondering what’s even happening.
Vaishnavi Chaitanya’s character doesn’t really get a chance to shine, mostly because of how it’s written. And besides the confusing plot, the emotions in the movie don’t feel real. The connections between the characters aren’t explored enough, so it’s hard to feel invested in their story.
Technical Elements:
The background music by Keeravani is decent, and the songs are just okay. Since the writing isn’t great, the music department can only do so much. But the art in the movie is fantastic, and the visuals by P.C. Sreeram are amazing. The movie looks stunning, and that’s mostly thanks to the legendary cinematographer.
The special effects are alright, nothing too spectacular. However, the editing could have been better. It’s a bit confusing and adds to the messiness of the story. Director Arun Bhimavarapu had some cool ideas, but they didn’t quite come together on screen. The first half is alright, but things start to fall apart in the second half with the complicated storyline.
Conclusion:
Overall, “Love Me” tries to be a different kind of horror thriller, but it falls short and ends up feeling silly and unconvincing. The interesting ideas don’t come across well, and the movie seems illogical at times. Ashish does a good job in his role, and the first half is okay to watch. But the second half is just confusing, with too much going on, and the big twist is a letdown. You can probably pass on this one.
