After an extended hiatus, Tollywood star Sai Ram Shankar returns to the silver screen with his latest film ‘Vey Darvey’. Let’s delve into the reviews to see how this movie, showcasing the debut of new heroine Yasha Shivakumar, is received.

Story :

When we first meet Kamareddy Shankar (played by Sai Ram Shankar) in the story, he’s struggling to make ends meet by working as a local masseur in Hyderabad. Meanwhile, he finds out from a friend that he could land a job by using fake certificates. At the same time, the new heroine Shriti (portrayed by Yasha Shivakumar) is instantly drawn to him. She also works at a consultancy that deals with fake certificates. However, the boss of this consultancy, Veer Venkata Satyahari Prasad, isn’t keen on his son Banu Prasad (played by Sunil) being involved in this shady business. But why did Kamareddy Shankar get involved in the fake certificates scene? Was it out of necessity or simply for a job? The answers to these questions are revealed as the movie unfolds.

Positive Aspects :

After a break, Sai Ram Shankar makes a comeback and shows us a new side of himself. He shines in his funny moments, dances, and acting skills. At the start, Satyam Rajesh, another actor, brings some good laughs with his quick lines.

And let’s not forget the newcomer, Yasha Shivakumar. She does a great job in her first role, looking lovely and acting with grace. Also, actors like Veer Venkata Satyahari Prasad, Sunil, Prabhas Shrinu, and others do well in their parts.

Negative Aspects :

In the first half, things seem fine, but when the story gets serious, the comedy loses its charm. The plot feels a bit silly and dull. Even though there are fewer emotional moments and some scenes lack logic, the second half feels stretched and lacks excitement. While some scenes try to add some twists, they don’t always succeed.

As for the main story, it feels like it’s borrowed a lot from a movie called “Arjun Suravaram,” which we might have already seen. This makes the movie less interesting. Also, Sunil’s character doesn’t seem to add much to the story. And when Heba Patel’s song comes on, it’s supposed to catch our attention, but it’s not clear what’s happening, making it confusing.

Technical Elements :

The quality of this film’s production is just average. The technical team’s efforts, like the settings and visual effects, don’t really stand out. Bhims’s music is alright, and Satish Muthyala’s camera work is decent. The editing is okay too.

When director Navin Reddy steps in, he has a vision for the story. He adds some comedy, which works, but the rest of the movie falls short. As it goes on, it becomes more disappointing, especially in the second half. His attempts at emotional moments don’t quite hit the mark, and there are problems with pacing, character consistency, and some overly dramatic scenes, which left viewers disappointed. Still, he did bring some good aspects to the film.

Conclusion :

Overall, “Vey Dharuvey” has an alright main character. There are some funny moments that might make you laugh, but the story itself feels a bit silly and dull. However, if you’ve seen similar stories before, the familiar themes and messages might still resonate with you. But if you’re looking for something fresh, it might be best to give this movie a pass.
