Popular Bollywood film producer Dhirajlal Shah, who supported successful movies like “The Hero: Love Story of a Spy,” featuring Sunny Deol and Priyanka Chopra, sadly passed away on March 11 due to complications from Covid-19. His brother, Hasmukh, shared that Dhirajlal’s health worsened in the last 20 days, leading to multiple organ failures.
Filmmaker Anil Sharma remembered Dhirajlal not just as a successful producer but also as a “lovely soul.” Dhirajlal made a significant mark in the industry, especially after acquiring the video rights for Amitabh Bachchan’s “Shahenshah,” a move that turned him into the “video king.”
Survived by his wife, Manju Dhiraj Shah, and three children, Dhirajlal’s legacy includes hit films from the 1990s and early 2000s like “Krishna” (1996), “Gambler” (1995), and “Vijaypath” (1994). The film industry mourns the loss of a visionary producer whose contributions transformed the world of cinema.
