India’s exciting Gaganyaan human space adventure is moving forward as Prime Minister Narendra Modi shared the names of the selected astronauts. Prashanth Nair, Angad Prathap, Ajit Krishnan, and Shubhanshu Shukla are currently in training in Bengaluru for this big mission. These test pilots, chosen with the help of the Indian Air Force, went through thorough health and mind tests before being officially selected.
During the visit to the Vikram Sarabhai Space Centre, the Prime Minister checked how things were going with the mission and chatted with Vyomitra, the humanoid who will go into space first. The chosen astronauts also spent about 13 months training in Russia’s Gagarin Cosmonaut Training Center.
The Gaganyaan Mission is set to take off by the end of 2025, aiming to make India one of the countries that can send people into space. The spacecraft has cool tech stuff to keep the astronauts safe, like life support and communication systems. This adventure puts India in the company of the United States, Russia, and China in space exploration.
