PM Modi recently took a selfie with Nazim, a guy benefiting from the Viksit Bharat program during the PM’s visit to Kashmir. Nazim, a honey seller from Pulwama, wowed the Prime Minister with his story that started in 2018. Back in 10th grade, Nazim began beekeeping on his roof and later expanded to 25 boxes with some government help.
Thanks to the Prime Minister’s Employment Generation Programme, Nazim got ₹5 lakh and started his own website in 2020. His honey brand picked up, and in 2023, he sold a whopping 5,000kg of honey, providing jobs for over 100 people. PM Modi applauded Nazim for leading a sweet revolution in Kashmir and helping other farmers with his beekeeping.
Even though Nazim’s parents wanted him to be a doctor or engineer, PM Modi appreciated his unique journey. The Viksit Bharat program played a crucial role in Nazim’s success as an entrepreneur.
