Kerala School Launches India’s First AI Teacher

Kerala, known for its top-notch education, has just introduced its first-ever AI teacher, Iris. Created in collaboration with Makerlabs Edutech, Iris is a humanoid designed to make learning super cool for students.

Unveiled at KTCT Higher Secondary School in Thiruvananthapuram, Iris is like a smart friend in the classroom. Makerlabs shared a fun video on Instagram to show off Iris’s abilities and how it’s changing the way we learn. The robot is part of the Atal Tinkering Lab (ATL) project by NITI Aayog, aiming to shake up the traditional way of teaching.

Iris can chat in three languages, answer tricky questions, and make learning fun with its cool features like talking, interactive lessons, moving around, and doing cool tricks. Makerlabs wants Iris to be more than just a robot; they see it as a special helper for schools. Powered by super-smart tech, Iris uses an Intel processor to make learning a blast. It’s like having a tech-savvy buddy in the classroom, making education exciting and easy for everyone.
