West Bengal’s Chief Minister, Mamata Banerjee, experienced a minor car accident on her way back from Bardhaman to Kolkata on a stormy Wednesday. The mishap unfolded when a vehicle suddenly appeared in front of her convoy, prompting the driver to slam on the brakes. As a result, Banerjee sustained minor head injuries and was swiftly taken to Kolkata for treatment.
In a post-medical checkup statement to the media, Banerjee shared her account, “While we were on the road, a vehicle came out of nowhere and almost collided with my car. I owe my safety to my driver’s quick response in hitting the brakes. The sudden stop caused me to hit the dashboard and get a few injuries. I’m okay, thanks to the support and blessings of the people.”
Earlier in the day, Mamata Banerjee had been in Purba Bardhaman, chairing an administrative review meeting. This incident serves as a reminder of the significance of careful driving, particularly in challenging weather conditions.
