In Mercer’s Quality of Living rankings for 2023, Hyderabad has clinched the title of the best city to live in India for the third consecutive year, despite slipping five notches globally from the previous year. Vienna, securing the fourth consecutive victory, retains its global top spot.
The rankings, based on factors such as quality of life, are an annual endeavor by Mercer, a New York-based global human resources consulting firm. Surprisingly, Hyderabad and Pune outshine traditional Indian business hubs like Mumbai and New Delhi, standing at 153 and 154, respectively.
The city’s appeal lies in low pollution, a comparatively lower crime rate, and the presence of esteemed English-medium schools. This recognition further solidifies Hyderabad’s position as a desirable and livable city on the global stage.
