Preeti Rajak: First Woman Subedar in the Army

Meet Subedar Preeti Rajak, a trailblazer in the Indian Army and the first woman to achieve the esteemed rank of Subedar. Her journey began on December 22, 2022, when she joined the Corps of Military Police due to her exceptional talent in trap shooting. This marked a significant moment for both the Indian Army and women across the country, showcasing strength and capability.

Preeti Rajak’s prowess was not confined to national borders. At the 19th Asian Games in Hangzhou, China, from September 21 to October 1, 2023, she secured a silver medal in the Trap Women Team Event, earning well-deserved recognition. This outstanding achievement prompted an out-of-turn promotion to Subedar, highlighting her impact on the international stage.

Ranked 6th in India for the Trap Women Event, Subedar Preeti Rajak is currently undergoing intensive training at the Army Marksmanship Unit for the Paris Olympic Games in 2024. Her success is not just a personal triumph but a source of inspiration for generations of young women, encouraging them to pursue careers in the Indian Army and excel in professional shooting.
