Avika Gor’s new horror thriller, Bloody Ishq, is now available for streaming on Disney Plus Hotstar, skipping the theater release. We’ve watched the film and written a review to see if it really lives up to its promise of delivering some good scares. Check it out to find out if this Vikram Bhatt-directed movie is worth a watch!

Story :

After an accident leaves Neha (played by Avika Gor) with memory loss, her devoted husband, Romesh (Vardhan Puri), takes her to a grand estate on a remote island in Scotland. The setting is beautiful, but Neha starts to feel uneasy, sensing that something is off about the house. Despite her growing fear, Romesh dismisses her concerns as mere paranoia.

As Neha’s unease grows, she begins to suspect that Romesh might be hiding something from her. The story also introduces Ayesha (Jeniffer Piccinato), whose connection to the events is unclear but seems crucial. Neha starts to question if her memory loss is part of a bigger deception and wonders if the house is genuinely haunted or if there’s a more sinister reason behind the strange occurrences.

To uncover the truth, you’ll need to dive into the story and discover what really happened, what secrets are being kept, and whether Neha’s fears are justified.

Positive Aspects:

Avika Gor continues her interest in horror thrillers with Bloody Ishq, where she delivers a solid performance with believable expressions. Vardhaan Puri supports her well, especially in scenes about her past and her doubts about the house.

Jeniffer Piccinato, despite having a small role, does a good job, while Rahul Dev’s brief appearance is average at best.

Negative Aspects:

The main problem with Bloody Ishq is not its story but how it handles its horror elements. Despite being directed by Vikram Bhatt, the film fails to create real fear or tension. The scares are few and far between, often coming off as laughable due to poor CGI and a weak script. The slow pace and uninteresting plot make it hard to stay engaged, and the climax doesn’t deliver any real chills. With a runtime of over two hours, the film feels both predictable and tedious. Avika Gor might want to explore other genres that better highlight her skills.

Technical Elements:

This film isn’t one of Vikram Bhatt’s best and might even be one of his weakest. The script by Mahesh Bhatt and Suhrita Das is poorly written, which makes the choice to release it straight to OTT platforms rather than theaters seem reasonable. The cinematography, music, editing, and CGI are all below average, adding to the film’s overall shortcomings. The dialogue by Shwetha Bothra fails to spark any interest, and the three songs included don’t do much to improve the viewing experience.

Conclusion:

Overall, Bloody Ishq is a major disappointment in the horror-thriller genre. It fails to deliver genuine thrills or scares, and the weak story doesn’t offer much to get excited about. Despite some decent performances, the film is technically flawed and difficult to watch from start to finish.

Even horror thriller enthusiasts might find it easy to skip this one. The lack of engaging moments and the poorly crafted plot make it a forgettable experience that doesn’t justify the time spent watching it.
