After a prolonged wait, the trailer for ‘Kushi’, starring Vijay Deverakonda and Samantha Ruth Prabhu, has finally arrived, captivating fans with its promise. The film, initially announced in 2019, encountered delays due to Samantha’s health issues, but her return last year expedited production, setting the stage for a September 1 release.
Directed by Shiv Nirvana, ‘Kushi’ delves into the marital challenges faced by its lead couple. The trailer resonates with shades of Mani Ratnam’s ‘Roja’ and unfolds as a modern interpretation of ‘Alai Payuthey’, with an interfaith love story reminiscent of ‘Bombay’.
A standout moment features Vijay Deverakonda’s meta dialogue asserting, “In the market, they might perceive me differently, but deep down, I am a feminist.”
With an ensemble cast including Lakshmi, Rohini, Jayaram, Vennela Kishore, and Sachin Khedekar, the film boasts music by Hesham Abdul Wahab. The track “Na Rojaa Nuvve,” sung by the composer, has gained significant attention.
Meanwhile, Samantha takes a break from acting, focusing on her well-being and gearing up for the Indian adaptation of the Citadel series. Vijay Deverakonda, after ‘Liger’, pins his hopes on ‘Kushi’ and has two upcoming projects.
