Buchi Babu Sana’s movie “Uppena” made quite the splash, nabbing the National Award for Best Telugu Film and winning hearts everywhere. But some folks said it seemed a lot like other films, especially “Sairat,” which later got remade in Hindi as “Dhadak,” starring Janhvi Kapoor.
But guess what? Boney Kapoor, Janhvi’s dad and a big-time producer, really dug “Uppena.” He even mentioned that he’s been itching to make a Hindi version for ages. “I’ve always felt it belongs in Bollywood, and I’d love to see my daughter Kushi Kapoor shine in it,” he shared, crossing his fingers for the dream to come true someday.
Now, Kushi Kapoor has been making waves herself, debuting in Netflix’s “The Archies” and snagging roles in two Hindi flicks. So, who knows? Maybe she’ll be the star of the “Uppena” remake. We’ll just have to wait and see how things unfold.
