Bollywood actor Riteish Deshmukh got emotional while unveiling a statue of his late father, Vilasrao Deshmukh, former Chief Minister of Maharashtra, in Latur. Fighting back tears, Riteish shared that it’s been 12 years since his father’s passing, and the pain still surfaces. He spoke warmly about Vilasrao’s enduring influence, emphasizing that his love continues to shine brightly.
Expressing gratitude, Riteish thanked his uncle Dilip Deshmukh for his unwavering support. He also praised his brother Amit, a Congress MLA, mentioning the high expectations the people have from him in Maharashtra.
The event was attended by family members, including Vilasrao’s wife Vaishali Deshmukh and sons Amit, Riteish, and Dheeraj. Riteish concluded by honoring his father’s memory, describing the lasting impact Vilasrao had on their lives. Vilasrao Deshmukh, born on May 26, 1945, served as Maharashtra’s Chief Minister twice and passed away on August 14, 2012.
