Shah Rukh Khan’s Humble Plea: Begging Mani Ratnam for a Film, and the Playful Response.
Shah Rukh Khan made waves at a recent event in Delhi where he humorously expressed his desire to collaborate with renowned filmmaker Mani Ratnam once again. The duo previously worked together on the blockbuster hit ‘Dil Se’ in 1998.
During the event, SRK was playfully asked if he would pitch a film idea to Mani Ratnam, to which he responded, “It’s all come out in the open now. I’m requesting you, I’m begging you, and I’m telling you every time to do a film with me. I swear, this time, I’ll dance on top of the plane for ‘Chaiyya Chaiyya’ if you tell me.” He also addressed Mani Ratnam’s wife, Suhasini, I told you that time to tell him “Shah Rukh Shah Rukh” before he sleeps , with a humorous remark.
Mani Ratnam, known for his wit, replied cheekily when asked about casting SRK in a film, saying, “when he buys a plane… I’ll do it.” In response, Shah Rukh Khan showcased his trademark charm, stating, “Mani, let me just tell you, the way my films are doing…this plane is not far away.” He even sang a snippet of the famous ‘Jiya Jale’ song.
Towards the end of the event, SRK jokingly expressed gratitude to Mani Ratnam for the future film, setting a lighthearted tone for their potential collaboration.
On the work front, Shah Rukh Khan had a successful 2023 with three blockbuster hits – ‘Pathaan,’ ‘Jawan,’ and ‘Dunki.’ Rumors suggest that he will team up with director Sujoy Ghosh for an upcoming film, featuring his daughter, Suhana Khan. However, official announcements regarding his future projects are still awaited.
