Anant Ambani has chosen the small village of Jamnagar in Gujarat for his pre-wedding festivities, drawing attention from international figures like Rihanna, Bill Gates, and Ivanka Trump. Speaking with India Today, Anant revealed that he was inspired by PM Narendra Modi’s ‘Wed in India’ initiative.
Jamnagar holds sentimental value as it’s his grandmother’s birthplace and where his father and grandfather began their business journey. Anant expressed pride in celebrating in his roots, echoing the PM’s call to marry in India.
Last year, PM Modi urged against foreign weddings, promoting the ‘Wed in India’ concept. Anant and Radhika Merchant plan to wed in July but are hosting a grand pre-wedding celebration in Jamnagar, involving around 1,000 guests this weekend at the Reliance Greens Complex.
