Asha Bhosle’s Blast On Remix Of Jumka Song

Renowned singer Asha Bhosle, celebrated for her timeless melodies, has shared her insights on the trend of remixing old songs in contemporary music. Addressing the remix culture, Asha candidly expressed that the proliferation of remixes stems from a lack of innovation among today’s music directors and singers. Referencing the remix of her iconic track ‘Jhumka Gira Re,’ now titled ‘What Jhumka’ in Karan Johar’s film Rocky Aur Rani Kii Prem Kahaani, she acknowledged the success of these reimagined tracks but emphasized that true originality should be the cornerstone of musical creativity.

Speaking to India Today, Asha highlighted the collaborative nature of crafting timeless classics, attributing their impact to the combined efforts of lyricists, composers, singers, and even cinematographers. She underscored that the dedication and teamwork behind the scenes contribute to crafting songs that leave a lasting impression.

Reflecting on the golden era of music, Asha noted the intense dedication that artists poured into their compositions. She recounted how lyricists and composers meticulously deliberated over each word, striving to create lyrical masterpieces. This painstaking approach, she noted, was a testament to the dedication that went into crafting every element of a song.

In a separate interview with Hindustan Times, Asha admitted her reservations about the quality of contemporary lyrics. She confessed that while she occasionally discovers well-crafted songs by talented artists like Rahat Fateh Ali Khan and Sunidhi Chauhan, the modern music landscape often lacks the depth and craftsmanship of older classics. Her appreciation for the classics remains unshaken, as she continues to find solace in the melodies of yesteryears.
