Film Producer Arrested in International Drug Racket

Film producer AR Jaffer Sadiq from Tamil Nadu is in hot water, getting arrested by the police for his involvement in a whopping Rs 2,000-crore drug smuggling operation. The Narcotics Control Bureau spilled the beans, revealing that Sadiq played a key role in this massive drug case. A joint operation by Delhi Police and NCB successfully cracked down on the international drug network, which had already led to the detention of some individuals and the seizure of 50 kg of pseudoephedrine.

This drug racket spread its roots in India, New Zealand, Australia, and Malaysia, sneaking the illicit substances disguised as everyday items like health mix powder and dry coconut. In the past three years, a total of 45 shipments, containing around 3,500 kg of pseudoephedrine, were dispatched. The international market value of these seized substances is a staggering Rs 2,000 crore. Efforts are underway to collaborate with authorities in New Zealand and Australia to nab individuals involved in their countries. Sadiq, associated with the ruling DMK party in Tamil Nadu, faced the music from his party, getting removed for bringing a bad name and violating discipline.
